Dealing With Competition
A:Nowadays, there is a severe competition among gift manufacturing companies. In order to survive in the competition, I think our company should cut the prices of our products.
B: Yes, I think so. If we
lower(v.降低) the price, we can attract more people as well as the companies, thus, to increase our sales.
A: That’s right. But we must ensure that we have increased the scale of production and that the costs of production are low, otherwise we’ll reduce
revenue(n.收入).
B: Other gift-making companies will do the same, too. So, I think cutting price is not enough. We should produce gifts and toys which are of high quality, and then customers will be attracted by our products.
A: Yes. And I also think that we should offer customers some services that other
counterparts(n.相似物,同级的人,对手)don’t offer, for examples, we can provide our customers with
tailor-made(adj.特制的) package and free delivery within some distance.
B: That sounds good. We can also compete by making some changes of the exterior looks of our products to make them more fashionable and exquisite. Many people
base(base on:以…为基础) their buying decisions just on the style of gifts.
A: We can also develop some new products. Because people prefer good-looking gifts, especially those that have some practical functions.
B: Or we can make some
innovations(n.改革、创新) to our present models to
cater for(迎合)the tastes and needs of customers.
A: OK, we can compete by cutting prices and making some innovations.
B: And by developing new models and offering extra services.
A:很对。
A:是的。
