May I try on this dress? 我可以试穿这件裙子吗？

This question you might say when you are shopping.  And you’d like to try on a certain piece of clothing to see if it fits before you buy it.
Or perhaps you’d like to borrow a dress from your friend, you can ask “may I try on this dress” to see if it fits.
